The country experiences prolonged drought which affects agricultural productivity, food and water security, the rural economy like Teso, depends on agriculture with the food security sector highly dependent on subsistence farming. Climate change is already affecting Teso and the key sectors of her economy, in particular agriculture. The worst climate change impacts being experienced in Teso are significant increase in frequency and intensity of severe weather events such as drought and floods.

Out project – Soroti Agricultural Productivity & Livelihoods Support Project –  seeks to strengthen Teso’s climate change adaptive capacity, in building community resilience to the recurrent agricultural production risks. Our strategy seeks to promote Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), which is an integrated approach to managing landscapes—cropland, livestock, forests and a fishery, that addresses the interlinked challenges of food security and accelerating climate change.

Please support TEYAPI4Peace by providing Euro 565.53 (USD 596) to procure farm tools, seeds & seedlings and pay for skills training on climate smart agriculture to support one farmer in a farmer group of 30 women/youth members to enhance their access to food, safeguard their environment and produce food for two seasons. This will provide Euro 16,965.80 (USD 17,880) for each farmer group of 30 members supported annually.

Your generosity helps TEYAPI4Peace provide scholarships and virtual programs to a new generation of  leaders. Learn how you can support our work today!
